Idiopathic Intestinal Pseudo-obstruction

Abstract

|
A case of idiopathic intestinal pseudo-obstruction was encountered recently at the department of surgery, Ewha-Womans University, College of Medicine. This 65-year old male was admitted with history of abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting on
June 25th,1975. On exploration, no apparent cause of mechanical intestinal obstruction- was found even though there was clinical and roentgenologic signs of intestinal obstruction.
The syndrome of intestinal pseudo obstruction are presented to further describe this entity and to illustrate a systemic approach to the solution of an important diagnostic problem.
